I'm moving to Mexico in about 4 months and have all the components and boards from the shop for Nelsons F5
i recently took apart a Cambridge 5.1 surround sound receiver and have the
have a heat sink with fan attached, small neat and compact,
this was cooling six B817 E4E1's six, D1047 E 4F1 and six D946BR, although i haven't a clue what they are but hope someone can identify them from the numbers,
Question would the 4 fets in an F5 generate more heat than this lot, ?
thanks for any thoughts or input,
John S

keep the fan and you'll be safe. if you don't it certainly won't be enough
Thanks yes i had realised that i know its not enough on its own i will also put in a sensor to switch off the amp if it gets to hot,

it will perfectly cool F5 , presumably with lazy spinning vent ( 7-8Vdc)
make tunnel around fins - you can use any sort of plastic foil for that ...... maybe piece of Roentgen (I scavenged full pack of these from buddy working in local lab) , so it will be most effective
attached fan control by Papa
it will start fan with full throttle and slow it down immediately
PSU voltage - simplest - just put 7812 reg in front , in case of feeding it from main amp PSU
