I think the "effect" comes from the inverse between the dominant distortion k2 and the main signal.
So I would say the "effect" should stay, besides the effect happening playing with inverse main phase....

Did you know the I can hear the inverse of the inverse of the 5th dimension......

I actually did this yesterday and thought it gave more slam - I will try it again and leave it for a few days to see what I notice when I change back

The whole thing is so system and source dependent (not to mention ears) that
you can't count on a very consistent result playing with the phase of harmonics.

Nevertheless, it's fun to check it out.

And maybe a still higher k2 about 12 to 14db will keep the effect but give a darker sound.
