Which means you can move to 3 watt surface mount foil.

So is it okay to use .1R SMD Foils? For some reason I ordered 1W ones. I soldered leads to them, but now I am worried they are too little.

I suppose I should install and measure heat output.

There is not a lot of headroom there, but in reality, on an efficient system like yours, you will never Leave Class A and should be OK. If you were pushing a lot of current, it would be a problem.

If SemiSouth SJEP 120100 is obsolete now why don't we use cascoded LU1014D as replacement.

Let you guys more literate than me think it over. Will it work ? Supply voltage is exactly the same.

Please see post # 3350 and later ones. DIYer DougL also asked questions like you did.
Best regards.
