Can't we just pass a sine wave and see the FFT graph for harmonics?
(Provided that the scope supports FFT )

Flochini have a look at Rigols. Very nice for the price

I have been directed by MS users to try this and that, but I don't ever see anything that I am sure will work with a Mac.

I run Visual Analyzer Visual Analyser 2011 XE using Wine Windows emulation on Linux. It will probably work with Wine on Mac OSX.

When you say things like "Wine Windows emulation on Linux" I have no idea what that means. I just want a program that runs on Mac OS and I don't have to program something to make it work.

Robert, I could not find a website for the Onetics directly. Do you have the model and pinout of the unit your using?

Considering an adapter to allow one to plug and unplug these things.

Tea,
Search thread for BudP post. He put up the datasheet. I may have it. The layout is the same but the pinout is different.

Wine is software to emulate the Microsoft Windows operating system(s) on other other operating systems, such as Mac OS X and Linux. Here is some info about Win for Mac OS X MacOSX - The Official Wine Wiki.

How about using an ADC and DAC like Metric Halo with 80 bit processing and digitally add the hamonic content needed for the best sound.
