Would it provide enough voltage? Probably. The original specified 5.1 wasn't enough. I went to a 9.1V zener.

I live the idea of a LM329. I haven't used them enough to know if they are a direct replacement for the Zener or LED string in this application. Hopefully somebody with more experience can chime in.

Paging Mr. Pass, Mr. Pass, please pick up the white courtesy telephone...

not exactly Pa , but at least beard of mine is white in same amount ....... if telephone isn't :clown:

use whatever you want , as long you put at least 3mA through reference

so , 3-5mA is good enough

though , generally , no special benefit of using there ref. chips with capability to work flawlessly at miniscule currents

I started building my F6 again after a looooooooong time :)

From the start I wanted external PSU, but I want your input on the grounding scheme.

Here is a crude paint sketch of what I have in mind.

Any suggestions?

Should the thermistor be on the PSU (wall socket) side?
