You can run it Class AB and scale it up within limits.

Does Class AB sound better with the Semisouth outputs than it does with regular MOSFETs?

Well, the first thing to remember is those tiny little circles mean the same phase. So, someone else noticed this is different than we've been exposed to before? I've been confused with Drain resistance all day. Maybe this is Push-push? Have'nt heard that in years!

I will hazard a guess that the answer is yes, but I really spend almost no
time listening to Class AB anymore.

I told you this would be amusing.

Well you have the golden ear. I'm just trying to beyond the F5 to maybe 50 watts.

fabulous !! Just spent the best of the last three weeks figuring how to do the front end for a tx drive - thought the BA-3 would do it but now we're going to have something better coming up! Hungry and impatient

Audiophiles & publications have been debating transformer or no transformer since the beginning of time. Well at least the beginning of the 90's. Input transformers, interstage, output, phono step-up transformers etc.

Just when everyone seems to have forgotten them, a product with transformers starts the debate again.

There's certainly a lot of merit in checking out this topology - using +/-24V rails I get 32V pk-pk @1% THD out of a single pair of toshiba latfets in a simple push-pull config ala ZV5 (i.e. common source not current follower) if the mosfets are driven directly by a tx. A very thorny problem is driving the transformer .. if you make the output stage biasing network low impedance (to tackle the HF response & HF distortion,) the reflected load into the primaries becomes very significant .... my Benchmark DAC does a good job but other preamps just go phffwwtt .... seems to me that this project will provide the answer ..... wishing the F6 was out a week earlier!
