Well, as I said. I'm looking at it for some sort of perverse line amp. Even its big brother the 085 has trouble dissipating a lot of power because of the small die size.

Really? I have some 085s but haven't done any testing yet. How much Pd do you expect at what temp for the 085? Or what where you pushing it to in your Le Mutant project?

And there is always the slightly smaller(just guessin) 550 part? seems to be in this range?

I use the 085 in my "SiC Puppy" SE amp. In that application, I push about 35W through the device.The thermal ruminations are gone through in that thread - I won't rehash them here. Any plans I might have for the new device are in abeyance until I actually see some, and I can finish up some of the other projects (way, way too many) that are littering my bench.
