It's even more difficult to find than 2SJ74/2SK170. At least I still have several hundreds 2SJ/2SK in stock.

They both should be avaliable soon according to Linear Systems. I thought you had only a few Toshiba parts left?

Yes toshiba stocked at the beginning of 2011. There were 3000 pairs at the beginning, almost sold out. It's really hard to find real parts now. Tried several sources but all fake.

I think this only confirms what others have stated early on that a well done V3 is going to be quite a costly exercise - no chance to do this one on the cheap

Well I started with my DIY case with the Fischer heat sinks 500mmx 300mm .1d/w, you dont loose much by reducing the height by 100mm, actually only drops 0.02 d/w. The investment is pretty heavy 1300 chf for 2 heat sinks and 6 week lead time (So I hope the boards will be ready some time around then, but rules me out as being able to be a prototype tester)
This is certainly going to be a heavy investment

The rest of case design I have to start now

Tea bag I am keen to get som FQA devices when the are avaliable

Jacco thanks for te advise on the voltage etc, I guess I need a least a 1000VA trafo - so now to source that monster

I know there isn't much to test with the PS boards but I would be able to build one or two supplys and report.
For testing the circuit boards I don't have time enough.

one 5U 400-500mm for V2 stereo.
two 5U 400-500mm for V3 mono.
maybe 4U will do. that depends on your rails and bias.
