Interested in building one of these. i am wondering how it compares sonically to the aleph 3. Seems similar in power.

Um, yes, similar in power.
The published spec of the aleph 3 is 30 watter per channel in 8 ohms. The published spec of the xa30.5 is 30 watts per channel in 8 ohms. That is similar in my book! Ok, I should have said it was the same. Yes, it is in production. So, is there a schematic available for it? |

not similar in power ...... even if specs are the similar
don't believe in everything written by NP ....... there is always possibility of some catch22 ![]() compare measurements - XA 30.5 have much greater dynamic capabilities

The one and only

It has a lot more power. 30 watts is the Class A figure.

I'm lucky to own one. For sure it is more powerful and dynamic than Aleph 30. IMO It looks and sounds better too :-) Compared both side by side.

I am actually thinking about buying a new one for my B&W 804 matrix from 1994. What do you think Nelson?
I know some will laugh at this, but I still have the aragon 2004 which is not too bad. I bought a huge classe model 750, and it was too dark sounding. I got rid of that. I tried an ARC solid state-absolutely terrible...lasted a minute in my system. It ripped my ears out with its sharp treble. I built a pass aleph 3 from schematics on here. Sounds really good. I dont think the bass is as deep as I would like though. I dont need a lot of volume. I like Al dimeola and the holley cole trio at realistic listening levels. I can not find anything that totally kills the aragon. I am wondering if I need a new pair of speakers...lol |

The answer to your question is in you. Nobody here knows your preference. I like Pass sonic signature and could go blindly with any of his product but you may be a different story. I consider XA30.5 very fine power amp and do not plan any upgrade ever unless they come up with better one :-)
