L'Amp: A simple SIT Amp

With that inductor loaded amp using the 2sj28 or a 2sk180 for that mater what would the output impedance be. I have a pair of coils just like that and would like to build it but want to drive a passive xover with it. So the question arises whether I need a voltage source xover or a current source xover ?

Look at this bulb's charming place

I replace input capacitor in L'amp 2SK82 with LL1660 Line transformer at 1:2.25 configuration
and in my opinion, sound is better with LL instead using 10uF cap.
Can I do the same with L'amp 2SK180 ?

Thanks in advance

Imho yes You can do the same :note:
My L'Amp 193V is with input transformer but 1:1 configuration.
Maybe i can try make with him passive gain stage in the future

Weeks ago I made a very worthwhile upgrade to my "L'Amp without lamp" SK180: I installed a differential amplifier from -ECdesigns- (quick and dirty) with the needed mods, and the improvement is very significant, though you may say it is a different amp now.

It increased gain, which suits better my TVC, and has bal and unbal entries. Both sections have their own independent and regulated supply. Expect increases in dynamics, textures and detail in a way that it doesn't get congested with complex orchestral passages anymore.

Sorry, I didn't find the complete and modded schematic.

Cheers,
M.

Thank you for the reply, Soundhappy.
My preamp has 100R output impedance, its fine with Sk82 with input transformer
but not sure when using input transformer to replace cap will work without significant rolloff at hi frequency (L’Amp 180)

100R impedance than is not too bad.
Maybe just try if you like music with a cap or transformer by comparing the same music song.
Easy to do modification.

I remember Papa 25R jfet impedance buffer being simple to build.
You get more gain from 2SK180 that great feature.
That gives you the possibility to use passive line stage:
potentiometer, stepped attenuator, autoformer volume control, light dependent resistor etc.
Well, if you don't need the phono stage all the time.

Yes. It sound's like a 400W amp to me now :D
I found the schematics for those interested. I may bypass C1 when time allows.

Cheers.

If I might offer an improvement- a constant current source instead of the resistors for the input section will improve the performance of the input section.

I recommend a two-stage CCS- a single stage will leave performance on the table.
