@Dan: very impressive build Dan! you really learned the lesson from Peter Daniel...
@protos: very interesting, these differences.... did you use the Mu follower circuit with the 500R Zen pot? and thanks for the sound impressions compared to the valve amps.

Yes I used the 500r pot but I have only experimented with it when adjusting for lowest distortion. It always ended up in the middle in both amps. I have not experimented with it acoustically yet. What is your impression of its acoustic effect?
Anyway there are so many variables, bias, current, voltage etc that also change relative to each other that trying to optimize by ear would need a whole year of auditioning.

I just made a few small improvements and I'll try to wrap up the writing over the holiday, but generally, the print pubs are about 4-5 months out, so probably Spring.
