I've 'met' Mr Pass long ago when Audio was still about audio,
and lots of great articles, including DIY.
My first experience with class A was the small 25 watter from
1977 article - what can I say : inspirational. In what become
a norm for "one and only" it was not just article, but a philosophy
and education in the best sense of that word.
Even with heavy substitutions (RCA parts were night on
impossible to get) it still made Bedini 25 sweat.
I've never made A40, nor A75, in fact none of the Zen nor
Alephs that Nelson so gallantly offered to the public. But I've
learned more from Mr Pass than ANY other designer about
amplification, topologies, what is important and what is not.
I still owe to myself to make one of the latest "X" amps - just not
enough free time these days.
