Default Did Nelson dive into shark infested waters?

As everyone here knows one of our resident gurus and teachers was first to introduce us to the vernerable Sic Jfet. A fabulously original and sorry to say privately owned conglomerate decided to manufacture a beautiful jfet device in almost indestructable silicon carbide for the automobile industry. What does this have to do with us. It seems that Mr. Pass has such a flawless reputation that powers to be at Semisouth, the Sic jfet manufacturerer, listened.
There is now not only a complete line of devices for the polluting automobile industry but, low and behold a lower priced product for the audio folks. All of this thanks to Mr. Pass. Much of this is old news to some I just wanted to add that the audio industry may be embarking on something NEW. Tubes have been around for almost 90 years and the standard silicon transistor perhaps 50 years, as we know it. Now there is a somewhat new device which is being added to the high end audio market. I do not expect that Pass Labs or First Watt will be sitting around doing nothing and let the other big audio giants R and D there way into the market with this device.
Expect many varied and new items to come along. I for one had thought this area of analog circuitry had hit a deadend. NOT.
It seems that Semisouth is listening also. We may even have better super low distortion, high gain, robust, silicon carbide JFETS being produced as we read for us the lowly audio market.
Thanks Nelson for your vision. I am here for the adventure till Alzhiemers.

Tad

I suppose you have travelled to the important events in your life in a horse-drawn carriage...no?? Surely you would refuse emergency transport to the hospital in a "polluting" ambulance in order to save the planet, rather than your life. May I suggest you either walk, or stop whining about the polluting impacts of the technology that is the basis of modern society.

Unless he has a habit of being annoyingly ecologically-friendly, I would suggest that he was being only facetious.

Me think trionziess is critichising the Automobile industry.

Not the car as such

New development of Sic and such is just another way for car industry to introduce more complicated Gadgetry and make you want a new car.

You soon will not longher be able to CHANGE YOUR OWN LIGHT BULBS AND HAD TO GO TO THE GARRAGGE IN LIMP MODE Where only an autorized meccanic whit the corect codes could reset your engine managment system
Pirates (I call them indipendent) mechanics could not get codes any more as those are constantly changed.

WANT A REALY GOOD ONE New Astra has maintenance free fuel sistem guaranteed for life but guarantee is void if filter block due to contaminated petrol.

Filter cost maybe £10 replacing it a couple of K as is fitted under the ving and the lot have to be removed.

Al it takes is a garragge that run out of petroll and sell you what is left in the botom of the tank and we had several thousands of those faults last year

Want more?
If one of your light fails cam buss uses the next avvaliable working light to let you go to garrage in limp mode

So if rear brake faill you may end up with the reverse light instead Dont know you but mine in UK is white just want to see what happens on the motorway when some body is sudenly facing a white light in front of Him /Her

I think that I am much more ecologicaly sound by keeping my 12 years old VR4 on the road than if I was going to buy a new Prius evvery 3 to 4 years as Motor industry wuld like me to Even at 20 miles to the gallon on the VR4.

Unfortunatley Car industry is the only left to fork out big dosh to R&D If I can get a beter sound out of it who cares.

Papa offered a slice of the cake to any one all he need is $300,000 for a new batch

I got 300 to spare all we need is 999 more GB any one?

I think it's only a matter of time before this stuff becomes available at a
reasonable price. If I get a good bonus this year, maybe I'll dive into those
waters again and bring back a bigger batch of SITs, and then there will be
enough for everyone.

And of course these parts are specifically designed for solar panel and electrical
car type switching, where every watt counts.

Now all we need is for fusion power to work.

I wonder what big social/environmental problem will accompany that....

guys this is a thread about jfets. lets leave discussions of how much of a problem pollution from autos is out of it. It will only get political.

mod hat off. Especially if anyone mentions the reason why Nelson needs fusion power

Tony.
