There's tons of sage advice out there.
Start with replacing the electrolytic caps.

I replaced the large electrolytics with RIFA PEH169, the NFB decoupling caps with Auricaps and the RCAs/binding posts with Cardas/Vampire. And definitely replace any tantalums if you have any on board. It's a reasonably good amp now. Only substantial upgrade i can think of is a separate regulated supply for the front end.
