Default What brand toroid transformer use in pass amps

I wonder which brand is used in pass or first watt amplifiers?

I have used plitron and toroid tech with excellent results. I wonder if one transformer would make your amp sound different than another brand. Also, I see from photos of a first watt, that it uses a single dual secondary transformer. I wonder if there is any benefit going with a quad secondary transformer with 4 bridge rectifiers. Maybe at that point you should go to 2 separate transformers with dual outputs within a single chassis? Any thoughts? I know my old aragon 2004 has a single toroid with 4 secondaries and 4 bridge rectifiers.

I am currently recommending the Antek AS-3218. Nice shielding, big core,
low price.

Antek - Your reliable source of transformers, power supplies, and more.

Thank you Nelson. I am going to order one.

Just an opinion here. I'm running an Antek in my F-5 clone, and I'm entirely happy with the results. Good hefty core, good construction, very quiet (no noise at all), and the price was right. Good range of selection, and very quick delivery.

yeah but......they are made in hong kong I was told by the distributor...ah so what, they are cheap, and it is only wire. I was going to order a plitron like I did when building my tube preamps.

I've used both.... Plitron and Antek..... The Antek's seem to work fine in the F5, and probably other Pass designs. Can't beat the price. (Again, this is just my opinion, though).....

Ok, so what do you guys think about the dual mono supply in a single chassis? I have seen shematics of some amplifiers, now I am talking stereo here, not mono, that have quad secondaries and use 4 bridge rectifiers to give you power for each channel. That was how aragon did the 2004 back in the day. For the 4004, they stacked 2 toroids and basically had 2 independent power supplies. Basically it was 2 mono amps in one chassis. I wonder...
