I was going to build the aleph 5 but i ditched it as i wanted more power and thought that i should just start investing in the aleph 2 instead. So how does it sound. ?

maybe i should start a aleph 5 Humm heh. now you got me thinking.

i think ill just finnish the aleph 2's first then go from there.

So you ditched the boards on some poor Sap!

Re: Lowering the offset

Hello Jan,

The offset would be minimized if you would use
matched input IRF 9610 transistors.
The matching is very easy, and it can be done in a few minutes.
You can use attached circuit diagram for the matching mosfet
devices.
The 30 mV is ok, but with the good matched transistors, the
offset can be still lower.
The 180 mV is also not that too high like it's sound, but for the
DIY Aleph standard I guess that the most of the people would
try to lower this value also. :)

Kristijan,

I did use matched transistors (both 240 and 9610) so the problem must be elsewhere. I also spoke to Piersma about this and he told me the matching has to be done with the bias in mind which is going to be used. This could be the "problem". I started looking for a solution and found this thread: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/show...erpage=15&highlight=aleph+offset&pagenumber=1
It seems a good and simple solution.

Greetings,
Jan

Btw Kristijan: Your PCB's are great!
