Hi,
Sorry if the answer can be found in another thread but they all seem confusing to me. ![]() I am looking for a Aleph J kit, maybe board and components if it can be found. I found links for F5 but there doesn't seem to be any for aleph J. Care to point me in the right direction... Oon |

Nothing confusing at all. Go to "swap meet" and you will see Peter Daniels group buy for Aleph J x.....just buy a stereo pair instead of two sets for the x version.

I used this BOM as basis for my Peter Daniels boards, which I found in the Aleph J schematic thread but am shamelessly posting here so you don't have to search

I have Peters excellent boards for the Aleph J.
I bot some 2sj74 off of ebay and soldered them into a completed board and I don't seem to get very much gain from them...even though the amp biases up correctly and voltages seem correct...perhaps the 2sj74's were counterfeit.... Would 2n5461's work in place of 2sj74's These are available for 12c apiece...I guess you would choose them of Ids of 8.4 ma or so... |

Thanks guys for the info. I couldn't find the it in the swap meet so I contacted Peter directly.
The BOM calls for adequately matched output mosfets for the BOM? Oon |

I just returned a big batch of j74s I bought overseas. Beautiful counterfeiting job, even came in sealed 200 pc bags just like Toshibas. Their Gm was around 4ms, far off of spec. I believe some of the sellers don't even know they are selling counterfeits. They could possibly be rebadged j103s, don't know for sure.

Built a chip amp and then a SE tube amp. Just starting part gathering for Aleph J. Thanks for the part list. Good place for me to start
