Default B1 buffer for F3

I am beginning my F3 adventures and had a question concerning possible buffers. I am correct in assuming the B1 is superior to the buffer implemented in Z4? I don't want to assume that newer is better. Will the circuit benefit from its inclusion as Z4 did?
