Now you can guess that these "High Idss 2SJ74BL" offered here

20 X 2SJ74BL (10 Matched pairs) - HIGH IDSS | eBay

are also fakes (Seller says: They were manufactured in Malaysia)
You are right. Mine just arrived today. Code "7C". Hardly readable.

But CHEAP!

I'd like you be right, but not in this case.

So you can confirm the Idss range mentioned by the seller? Have you yet determined the transconductance of these parts?

Honesty has nothing to do with trading (actually it's bad for business). Most of the fakes I received came from sellers who were honest, but not know they had fakes.

Perhaps the most interesting item for us right now might be this one:

4 X RARE MATCHED 2SK170 2SK170V 2SJ74 2SJ74V FET | eBay

Set of matched 2SK170V/2SJ74V. The batch code is "8C" in both cases. Is anyone here familiar with Toshiba's batch codes and could tell us what they mean?

It might be possible that the fake SJ74s bearing the batch code "7C" are indeed mislabeled V grade, as previously suggested.
