Tanks to you All
I have a build in progress and you comments about source resistors and pots came at perfect time.

I am running 2 A at 25 V on toshibas and the 0.47 MPC74 resistors are running realy hot with 0.92 V drop across them power disipated is about 3.8 W temperature well over 70C

I have an handfull of 0.22 to try tomorow and report back.

I have eard that the MPC74 sound beter hot but even spec sheet shows derating at abowe 70C.

As an alternative I was thinking about TO220 clip on sinks.

Same for pots /R3 R4 good call so again will try and report.

The types of Film resistors like Caddocks can become permanately damaged when over powered. Most higher rated ones are rated with heat sinks attached.
