hi,
i'm going to build an aleph amp. i read i can do this with 240's instead of 244's. can i take either irf 240 or irfp 240? are there any other differences than the price (irf-> € 3,40 / irfp-> € 1,20)? thanks olaf |

the difference between the IRF240 and the IRFP240 is the package .... the IRF240 is in a package similar to TO-3 whereas the IRFP240 is in a plastic TO-247 package .... as far as the specs go, the only difference is in the power dissipation which is because of the different package type.

the IRFP240 are a lot easier to work with. The TO-247 package is easier to mount on the heatsinks.
