I'd like to build a Pass amp to drive my Magneplanar MMGs at best.
Magnepan says that the amp should be able to provide high current into low loads (2 ohms?). Input should be balanced. A balanced output would be welcome. Any suggestion? Regards. Paul |

Thank you for your advice.
The BA2 looks very interesting. Is the bride of zen a suitable preamplifier for the BA2? Could you suggest other Pass preamplifiers with balanced input? Regards. Paul |

Bride of Son of Zen. I think there is a version using Jfets around.
Or you could always do a balanced B1.

How does the circlotron amp performs at low loads (as low as 2 ohm) ?

The circlotron by Michael Rothacher does not perform well into low impedance loads apparently.
However that does not mean you can't design one that performs well into low impedance loads. I have been playing around with a few ideas for circlotrons, so it can be done. I will probably upload some of the ideas sooner or later. I think Euvl might have a circlotron design that could do the job but I have not seen it. Have a look around and see what you can find
