Hey all.
I'm looking for any advice anybody might have regarding a parts order for a Pass B1 Build. Recommended parts ordered from Aus? Bad choices/parts to avoid? Cheers for any input. Dean |

For the 10uF caps I used Wima, for everything else I followed Nelsons recommendations and purchased from either digikey or mouser

Built the symmetrical supply no cap B1 and matched Fets were purchased from a European member. Other than those all I needed was standard MF resistors from Altronics.
Power supply was a modded Jaycar KC5418 utilising trimpots to give ±10VDC and was powered by a 16VAC plug pack or a 15-0-15 VAC 240VAC transformer.

Hi Dean, I still haven't built mine yet, but I got the jfets from HK (spenser from here on the forum) most satisfied with the service, I bought 100 and did the matching myself the price was excellent and I got them very quickly!
I got the 11uF (10uf nominally) axon caps from Parts connexion in Canada as well as a bunch of nichicon electros (I'm not building a standard B1). I also got some prp resistors (to be a bit exotic, and they were cheaper than the vishay's from farnell) for some parts of the circuit. I need to get some opamps as well which I plan to get from partsconnexion (and some other bits and pieces)... oh I also got the LM317's from them too. The rest will be coming from Farnell (now element14) and RS Australia. They both have stocks of vishay resistors (although pricey). I'll need some cermet pots and other bits and pieces as well (such as the BYV32E diodes for the powersupply). The aussie dollar makes overseas purchase pretty attractive at the moment, but you do get stung for shipping! a small light order via post though shouldn't be too expensive probably around the $10 US mark. Any Big caps and you are likely to be looking at $50 US or more for freight. The transformer for the powersupply (which in itself is an excercise in overkill) I will get from Harbuch transformers in Hornsby. I'm getting set to order the rest of the parts, have been trying to get some decent measurements of my Vifa "subs" so I can finalise the active crossover part of my B1 project, and place the order for more parts. edit: here is a snapshot of what is in my basket at the moment, not sure if all these are for the B1 or for the synergy or yarps 4675940 VISHAY DALE RN60C1000BB14 RESISTOR, METAL FILM, 100OHM, 250mW, 0.1% .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: Accessories Available 5 1652662 VISHAY DALE RN60C1002B METAL FILM RESISTOR .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: 6 1653230 VISHAY DALE LVR01R1000FE12 CURRENT SENSE RESISTOR .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: Alternative Products Available 2573951 VISHAY DALE RN55D1005FB14 RESISTOR, METAL FILM, 10MOHM, 125mW, 1% .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: Accessories Available 8 4675344 VISHAY DALE RN55D4022FB14 RESISTOR, METAL FILM, 40.2KOHM, 125mW, 1 .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: Accessories Available 9 3413949 VISHAY DALE RN55C1001BB14 RESISTOR, METAL FILM, 1KOHM, 100mW, 0.1% .offer { color: rgb(51, 51, 51); background-color: rgb(248, 255, 202); border: 1px solid rgb(242, 72, 17); padding: 10px; width: 50%; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; }.offer h3 { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; font-size: 11px; }.offer p { padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt; } Line Note: Tony. My electronics class just did a few of these with Nelson's help and we used a couple of different sets. The first is the digikey stuff, the second is the stuff Chris Johnson from Parts Connextion suggested as a killer build. Jon
