Could you pls anticipate how many caps (and value) in the P.S. for each channel? Just a rough idea....
thanks

If you were to follow my layout 100%, then you would need per channel 8 pieces of either :

Digi-Key - P6591-ND (Manufacturer - ECO-S1EA223DA)

or

Digi-Key - P6921-ND (Manufacturer - ECO-S1VP223DA)

depending on how much voltage margin you want for the caps. Both will fit.

So for a dual mono build, you need 16 of them.

You can also mix, 35V before the regulators, 25V after. In that case, then you want 8 each.
And I would buy 10 each to allow some matching.

But early days. Please wait till AR2 & Co have built & reported.

Boy the prices of those 25V TSHA's really drop when you buy 200 of them. Might have to get some sort of group buy going (savings of $32 per person).

Yes, group buy makes sense. That's why I call for patience.
Also a good cap is Vishay BC components Series 056. 22000uF, 25V.

Any 10mm-pitch snap-in capacitors up to diameter 30mm & height 50mm will fit.
So many choices, including EPCOS (previously Siemens), ......

If there is enough interest, I'll try and organize a group buy on big capacitors and maybe some of the other parts as well. I'll wait until after the prototyping is done though.

Patience.
There are enough other parts for GB's.

Balanced F5 question
dumb question:

would a DAC with a balanced output driving a DCB1 balanced buffer be a good set to hook up to a FX5???

Depends whether you think you have enough voltage gain (i.e. depends on your speaker), and how much volume control you would want.

Balanced DAC + B1 + F5X will get you maximum 20Vrms across the speaker terminals with next to no attenuation.
If you want 6dB attenuation minimum, you are down to ca. 10Vrms.

I would probably want another gain of 3~5, but that is a matter of taste.

The Pana suggested by Euvl (22mF/25V-25V) aren't TS-HA (105°) but TS-UP (85°).
The equivalent TS-HA are slightly bigger (diam. 35 mm) and don't fit the max size indicated (30 d x 50 h mm).

When I click the first link, I'm seeing a 25V 22uF TS-HA Cap. Shows an operating temp up to 105C with a 30mm diameter. You sure you aren't looking at the 35V TS-HA?
