If you have the gate shorted to the drain type of arangement, you can bring the voltage up slowly to the Vgs (Ussually 3.5-4.5V) threshold at which current will turn on very quickly.

Default Where to buy 2sj74 and 2sk170 or alternatives

I am having trouble finding 2sj74 and 2sk170 JFETs, or suitable alternatives for the F5. Any suggestions?

Did the 2SK2013s arrive? If so, how tightly were they spaced when you matched them?

Yes, the 2SK2013 and 2SJ313s arrived about 3 weeks ago. But I have not measured them yet. I have been having trouble finding 2SJ74BLs. Blues sells them. But a fellow DIYer from Bangalore ordered them but the parcel never arrived. The hunt continues.
