Few weeks ago I received in the office a bunch of junk to be disposed. Most was real junk, but many things stayed.

There some pictures of the Junk F5, waiting for an inspiration for a case. The idea is to have two monoblocks, each will have two of the black ugly transformers and one heat sink. I was thinking about putting the heatsink on top. It's not ideal but it should not be so bad.
With this trasformers I get only 13 V but I think there is no limit to current. At the moment I am using Toshiba mosfet biases almost 3A.

I also pulled out a nice toroid with the following secondaries:
115 V 0.94 A
50 VCT 6.6A
45V 13.2 A

Any idea what I could do with it ?

Pictures...

I also have a couple of these monsters 3.5 KW step up transformers. I could get probably 40 V using them the wrong way.

Suggestions on how to box the monoblocks are welcome !!! Actually this is why I posted them.

Thanks,

Davide

You don't want to know what the Al blocks on the transformers are and where they come from :-)

Those Alu blocks look very nice..... tells us more.

O.T. Everything OK for you Davide? I do hope so. I saw that yellow mug on your desk and I immediately thought of what is going on not far from the place you live....

Now it's better, although the building is shaking while I am writing. Family had to evacuate and I have a lot of time for DIY. (Let's see the bright side)

Actually all these components were dismissed from nuclear facilities, blocks included. They are used to keep samples at constant temperature.
I've spent many days last year in the facility that is troubled. I'll probably have to go back there sooner or later.:-(

Call me Omer. Thanks for asking

Ciao,

Davide

A part from natural/nuclear disasters, any suggestion for the monoblocks and the potential use of the trafos?

Thanks,

Davide
