It is waterslide decals printed on a laser printer. I might want to cover it with clear spray paint
Cody,Been meaning to post a picture of the updated casework on my Singing Bush monoblocks. The chassis’ I used have worked out great, with the one exception being that they don’t offer nearly enough ventilation thru the top panel. I whipped up a quick design and had Gianluca at Hifi2000 make the panels. As usual they did an awesome job (and for the best price…).
So, Gianluca did the tops only? Where did you get the chassis?
Cheers,
Greg
I just finished (still need to hook up the power switch) this BOSOZ. I bought the boards populated and non-functioning on eBay and figured out the little issues. New active devices, a couple of resistors bigger heatsinks. 16 gauge steel sheet from Lowes coated in Rustoleum enamel SG paint for the bottom, Duratex on the back then coated with the Rustoleum enamel SG to match.
The wood is milled from a large piece of Cedar that I pulled out of the trash. Oak dowels are made from a cabinet door pulled from the trash, pointers on the knobs are mahogany from an old book case off the road. Power switch is from an old 40's sailboat. 16 gauge steel sheet from Lowes coated in Rustoleum enamel SG paint for the bottom, Duratex on the back then coated with the Rustoleum enamel SG to match.
I made some mistakes on the boards. They are not the high quality that the DIYaudio boards. Lifting components and old wires off of the board lead to a couple botched pads and traces. I did a couple of point to point repairs. Nothing significant though.
This preamp sounds fantastic. Very dynamic and detailed. Good imaging. I am going to listen to it for a few days then rotate my BA2018 in and see what I think.

I feel like I am hearing new things that I didn't hear with the BA2018 but I always seem to think that when I put a new piece of equipment in. I will say that is is a very good sounding preamp. The presentation of the sound is quite different from the BA2018 and with that I am quite happy with it. I like variety. I Emailed KK-Pcb.net about the build plans and after a couple of weeks so I think they may still sell the PCBs.
I will say that having an arsenal of preamps is a nice way change the way your system sounds.

Left on top, Right on bottom. Just like the Threshold NS10 and many other high end components.

Hey Greg, sorry for the delay. The chassis were an Aliexpress purchase. Here’s the link:Cody,

Cody, thanks buddy, I love the design work you did! I always buy Modushop chassis, but my builds are boring!Hey Greg, sorry for the delay. The chassis were an Aliexpress purchase. Here’s the link:

Thanks! This has been my only real adventure outside of stock chassis, but it was definitely fun. I’m excited to try one of the new mini dissipante 4U chassis soon.
It’s solidly built and panels fit together very nice. The anodization is not as good as Hifi2000, but it’s passable. The mounting side of the heatsinks needed a bit of wet sanding. Overall I was very satisfied for the money and would definitely buy again.
Very cool. Thanks for the input. I have always been curious about the Chassis that I see coming form Asia.
