I built chassis for SOZ a year ago. It will be 10W version. It's only that I got involved with all that GC craze, that I didn't have time to pursue other designs. But I learned a lot playing with GC and I will be using probably different components, that I initially planned with SOZ. 500VA toroids are at the bottom. I also bought 15ohm, 30W Caddocks, I'll be using in parallel.
If you are willing to tweak your SOZ as you have done with your GC's, you're in for a BIG surprise as the differences are much bigger between components. As to the MP930; very dry and clear/detailed, but a little too much in my setup with the SOZ..
It is a little more work to change resistors etc though...

Any better alternative?
i guess if resistors make a difference in sound,
this is the circuit that would bare it out
but i think like Peter is hinting at, there aren't that
many high power resistors to choose from.
i used the Dale resistors rated at 50 watts, even for
the 1 ohm resistors. I think i liked the idea that they
were all the same.

I've got Dales too.
i'm looking forward to that:
This is not just another SOZ post
GainKlone's and Zen amps are pretty much apples and oranges
though. When you see the word Compare, the first thing you
think is that one will be determined to sound BETTER than the
other. I guess i'm just more interested in seeing if they have
similar traits/strong points. The two amps truly are the kings of
minimalism. That's what attracts me to the SOZ.

Then you can try both!
I am interesred in trying the Danotherm GRF 20/102 (6.8 ohm/80W)
http://www.danotherm.com/engelsk/product/power_resistors/round.htm
Then I wouldn't need heatsinks
