Okay, for now a final followup.

Many thanks to the forum members for helping us through this
repair.
The amp is running fine, clear and powerful.

The photo shows the installation of an IXYS FRED rectifier, 1200v, 20amp
with the addition of Sprague .1uf Poly caps across the main power supply
capacitors

Thanks again for the support !

andrew

Good afternoon !

The rectifier we used was the IXYS VBE17-12NO7
If I recall it can handle 1200v at 19a.

Regards, andrew

Good afternoon to you, too, and thank you so much.
The datasheet can be found here PartDetail
Seems I have to purchase one IXYS VBE17-12NO7!

Something in the region of 10uF seems more appropriate for such large capacitors.

Thank you for that suggestion,
we shall probably run the unit as it
is for a bit and then try the 10uf.

Thanks again ! andrew

Good afternoon Marco !

Thank you again for your hand drawn schematic !
Your drawing most certainly helped us understand the
layout of the unit.

Best regards, andrew
