Go to PassDIY, articles, 1981 and there is a schematic of the stock amp and one for MOSFET mod. from the Audio Amateur magazine. Good reading on how to bias an amplifier too.

Thank you. I will definitely order the book and read all posts in detail. However I could hardly find some IRF 130 for sale but no MPS L01 and MPS L51 transistors and I have no idea concerning the best equivalent parts for the Nelson Pass design! I am switching back from tube amps to transistors after more than25 years so I have to start almost from scratch!

At both Pass Laboratories and FIRST WATT HOME you can find
the original piece, and also a parts substitution article for it.

actually you must find successors here:
Small Signal Transistor - Fairchild Semiconductor Site Search
At best you contact Fairchild and ask for successors. Sometimes the same internal structur from the old models is inside in SMD outline but completly other model number ("PZT" instead "2N" e. g. or completly other). Concerning the IRF130 ask International Rectifier. Semelab still offer successors to the old TO-3 ones as I know - check out the site of
TT electronics Semelab - Discrete Semiconductor Design, Packaging, Testing & Supply
Semelab - Mil/Aerospace Division - FETS, JFETs & IGBTs
