I have just finished my F5 and plan to use it to drive a pair of 15" co-ax
drivers in an open baffle set up. These drivers are 8 ohm and have a sensitivity over 95db. The set up will also have 2 lo-frequency 8 ohm drivers in parallel driven by a 370 watt plate amp. It has been suggested that I use the high level inputs on the plate amp connected to the output of the main(F5) amp. My question is, will this be a problem for the F5?? I don't want to damage my F5 in any way. |

Depends.
Measure the DCR of the high level input first. It ought to be high. In which case it will not be a problem in terms of loading the F5. However some people would argue that the xtra speaker wire will effect the overall sound of the amp. Myself, I would keep the two beasts separate and use a buffer for the line level run to the plate amp... the Pass B1 is one example of a buffer. Just my opinion...
