I came to think of this on today??!
I have not seen anything like this i any thread about the PLH.
I know people have been trying to X the PLH, but i have never seen anyone come up with a 2 stage version?!
Will it work?
Johannes.
PLH or not - it is SUSY
look at Donut a' la overkill - DIY Audio Forum and , I believe - it's floating somewhere here too ...... ( now little searching ) as ........ ah - I found it :

nota bene - I'm pretty fast on back on napkin ....... used to improve few things ditto on bench

Two stage is easy. I have both MOSFET and BJT versions :

Single stage is a bit more tricky. I have not figured out an elegant solution as yet.

If you are refering to this:
Then that is a three stage version. LTP input, phase-splitter and outputstage.
My version is without the LTP. I rearrenged the phasesplitters as a a LTP, but at the same time the are splitting the phase to each of the mosfets in the output section.

How could you have a singelstage susy balanced PLH amp whitout the phasesplitting/input mosfet??? That would be a Son of Zen?!

One, two and three stages????
One can argue whether a phase splitter is a stage or not.
If it is according to your definition, then I am most happy to give you that.
I tend to think of the phasesplitter as a gainstage, since it does have a lot of gain. I asked just to understand what you meant by "single stage".
Innovative circuits, as one would expect from you.
Thanks!! But i dont know if it will work????
I hope it will, but i dont know. Thats why i ask here.
Johannes.
The lower BJT in the phase splitter is just a source follower. In the all-FET version, I use equal resistors for top & bottom, so they are both gain <=1.
The PLH is a single stage. I tried to work out an X'ed version but came to nothing (see PLH thread). Perhaps Nelson has an idea.
I like your ideas; certainly different and often inspiring. Keep it up.
Patrick
PS Maybe someone would sim this one for you. I am not a fan of spice, and am rather short of time right now.

Hi,
Any update on this original amp circuit?
Thanks
