Btw, I have some left-over IRFP240s, 2 quads matched at 12V/1A. It's been a while but I'll retest them at 24V/1A then offer them for sale...if they pass.
Actually, I am thinking that some IRFP044 would be just the thing for a Mini-A I am putting together with +/-18 V rails .
I have tried most hexfets and uhc-mosfets by IRF IXYS and Hitachi as IRF530,IRF540, IRF640, IRF840, IRF350, IRF460, IXFH58N20,2SK1297,2SK2554.
As voltage amplifier the MORE linear is the little IRF530: the bigger types are better to use only as followers in my mind.
Samsung have also the bigger package T03-P version of IRF530 or you can buy the classic metal T0-3 IRF130 for a better dissipation.
Other advantages for IRF530/130 are a better thermal stability and a lower input capacitance for a better hf response.
Much more linear seems the very little VN88AFD but it can dissipate only 15 Watt.
Francesco.
