I've got a couple of those chips around, I was thinking I can use them for creating the voltage for the gates, instead of the resistor/capacitor network, along with swapping C2 with 2x caps across the rails and the generated 1/2 voltage.
I know they just cost me more than the simple resistor divider, but is there any other reason why I wouldn't want to use them? I'll eliminate the time constant for charging C2 that way, what influence will that have - clicks and pops?
I've matched my JFETS and am now ready to build a p2p prototype, just waiting for a few film caps to arrive for the final version.
