Default XP10/20 Coupling Caps

Hello,

in NP's new preamps he uses different kind of coupling caps with a white color. In his older preamps (e.g. X0) Panasonic with an orange color were used. Has anyone an idea which type the new caps are?

Thanks for help

Ralph

The caps we use are Wimas, Elna, Panasonic and Vishay. The XP10 and XP20 are DC coupled so be careful with your sources.

Hello,

as far as I know both preamps have an integrated variable resistor from Maxim as a volume regulator. This device has a single supply and you need two coupling caps there for every signal path.

They don't in the preamps we build. The 1802 is single supply. the 1882 is ran on +- 6.8 Volt supply. A wonderful part the 1882 has no opamps and great specs.
You will see they spec parts worse case not best as most companies do.

But it will only work with 6,8V (I thougt 2V but it seems to be maximum iss VCC). So Gain must be reduced in Input...
Does it make sense?

Best regards

Felix

That limitation only exists in the application notes, and even
then I wouldn't consider it a serious issue. Does your
source voltage exceed that?

Best regards Felix
except in case that you're trowing these 20V directly in F4 input ...... I have doubts that you ever use that potential ......

what's gain of Ono , and what's signal level feeding it ?

then calculate whats real output
