Sorry to go on about the power supply but is there a reason for the four 1ohm resistors being placed in parallel between the two capacitors? Does one get the same affect using a single resistor say 0.25 ohm at 25W?
Regards,
Chris

You get the same filtering effect. Watch the derating factor if you don't mount the 25W resistor to a proper heat sink, though. For example, a Vishay Dale RH025 must be derated by at least 50% if you don't mount it. Mounting it to a reasonably thick chassis is enough, but you still must derate it slightly.

With 4 x 3W resistors, you spend a dollar instead of 6 and don't need to drill and tap mounting holes, etc. I'm cheap and lazy, you know which way I'd go.

Nothing wrong with minding the pennies.
When you talk of 'derated' do you mean you have to reduce its rated resistance or power?

Chris

Derating refers to power handling. For example see http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/rhnh.pdf A 25W resistor would be good for unmounted operation.

They will be in the store in about a week, maybe less, plus lots more cool boards.
At the moment they are sitting in my living room, so they DO exist!

Default Heat sinking

Ive found a couple of nice heat sinks for a reasonable price but Im not sure they will suffice. What is your take on a pair of these, are they sufficient or do I probably need larger ones?

I dont think so. If you could stack another set on stop you may be talking. Thermal epoxy could be used for that.
Alternatively, you could just bias lower and use 1 or 2 outputs pairs.
