I have 3X47000uf caps per rail and want to build either a CRCC or a CRCRC PSU. I have played with PSU Designer 2 and can get the ripple down to less than 10 mv with a 1ohm R between the first 2 caps and a .1ohm R between the next 2. What is acceptable ripple and is there an issue using larger value eg 1 ohm resistors ( Ihave 50v at the rails- so can live with the voltage drop and their 50w rating means that heat is not an issue). Any advice gratefully received.

What's the ripple rating of the caps? The first set off the diode
bridge will see most of the action.

The Ripple Rating is 14.5A per cap.

I allways consider 10 mV ripple under load as a really nice figure....
