As a separate issue, I am just populating my Aleph 2 boards and on the main board there is a connection for an LED. Is this the indicator LED on the front panel, or is an LED used as a diode in the circuit? Your advice would be much appreciated.

Ask the one that sold the boards

As they're certainly not Nelsons boards, how should he know?

I don't remember any stock diodes in the Aleph2-circuit (just Zeners), so chances are it's a LED.

Hi!

My I have too the A2 service manual?

I am thinking getting a pair (I miss my Aleph 3 and Aleph 30, gone time ago...).

With all the heat inside, what can one expect to find relative to caps status? Are replacement easy to find or one has to 'invent' a little bit? (maybe taking advantage, doing a 'many small caps' plus RC filtering?
