Hi all,
Hey american friends, do you have listened the new speakers of Mr. Pass? I have seen the photo on the stereophile's blog. Very interesting speaker! A friend of mine ask always me :" what's new about SR-1?" What can you tell me? It is a "strange" speaker IMO....one 10", one 8", one 6" and a tw. Sure Mr Pass know what he makes! Alls Seas excel, no? Is it biamped ? 10" one amp + "the rest" another amp, right? Crossover? Slopes, Frequency, etc.....perdone me, I am curious! Cheers, Paolo |

I am curious............. The Pass seller here in Italy has said that SR-1 will not be imported... a real pity! Cheers, Paolo |

Of course, and the worth their price tag. I've listened two DIY designs using Seas Nextel dirvers and they are extremely natural, with high speed in the treble and transparency close to the magnesium Excel drivers. They exhibit a very confortable sensitivity but at expenses of some very beep bass, but they play always in the hi end side of town. The designs are: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/CNO.htm http://www.seas.no/index.php?option=...181&Itemid=176 Also consider this other design coming from Troels: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/cyclop.htm F! |

What size midrange is in that? I'm in the middle of a Vifa/Seas build that uses the 5" Nextel woofer as a mid.

I believe it is a 6,5" nextel excel. Very strange, IMHO, with a 8" ( plus 10") the "natural" choice could be a 5,25".....
But it depends from the filter .... Cheers, Paolo |
