does sentence "Fire in the hole !! " rings a bell ?

Yes..and no :)

In case of the amp Korting A-300, its seems that the only good parts would be the case itself :) and perhaps the trannie.

The speakers..uhm...

spks , in fact , are pretty decent for that time ; with little work on xover , you can have nice pair of spks for your bedroom ; bass reminds me on ELAC , olde sweet sounding drivers

amp - dunno .... that model doesn't ring a bell , except that most probably is some Japanese OEM specimen

I can read, 1945, made in Korea.
Add last button finish, and it's made in Germany.

(as a kid, i enjoyed reading mail order catalogs for hours, bit strange maybe. still recall the Körting junk)

Wooha, breaking news : ModZee repaired chimpy amps.

You should hope for the other channel to die ASAP...

Since you like it so much, here's more :D

The idea it to take it out altogether. Use only the transformer and the heatsink. Just had a look in the drawer and found a pair of TDA 2030a chips. Provided they could stand the voltage, they may do for a sort-of-a-GC...
