Have you had a chance to build anything else for comparison?
I am thinking of building up one of these but possibly using laterals. |

In addition, I have built F4, ZV9 and a secret wonder-weapon.
(thanks to Generg and Papa.) F4 does not play without proper pre-amp. With lateral FETs now I'm not built yet.

It is time for me to start getting serious.
I don't think anyone has done an Aleph with laterals so I suppose someone has to do it. It may as well be me. |

Forgive me, you know my English is terrible and I do not understand electronics.
But something I read as if the laterals were not really the Aleph topology is chosen. Because VGS lover?

Yes of course, laterals have lower Vgs, but I don't see why you could not use them.
Just need to adjust the circuit slightly to accept them. Still probably use IRFP240 for current source. |

I'm afraid it's more than my abilities.
But maybe that just do not trust myself.

I will attack it and let you know what needs to be done.
Just need to finish my speakers first. Hopefully have the speakers finished in the next 2 weeks. |

done several times
even by Mighty ZM but you probably know that I'm always trying another one , in same test bed ........ so I don't have it take xconductance in account , Vgs difference is irrelevant , as long you have OLG under control conclusion - Aleph with laterals - boiled water .......... and difference comparing to IRFP150 isn't worth any hassle but - Jfet FE is very well worth the hassle NB- one IRFP150 instead of 2 IRFP240

OLG should be lower with laterals
What does boiled water mean? EDIT: Even though you have already done this I would not mind doing it myself purely to satisfy my curiosity and possibly learn something. Besides that I have a tonne of laterals lying around. Last edited by Melon Head; 28th May 2012 at 12:48 PM. |

Quote:
use more output pairs squeeze as much gain you can from FE - minimal source resistors , same as paralleled jfets (as in Aleph J or Mighty ZM's Mighty Babelfish J )boiled water - yesterdays news - reinventing the wheel
