I am looking at the XP10 to complement my recent addition of an X350.5 (which I am delighted with)
I currently have an Adcom GFP-750 which has had the Blackgate treatment to good effect. Problem is that I need to buy the XP10 unheard (new item tho) Can anyone comment on listening to the XP10 and how it would compare to the GFP-750? |

I'm Sure you will be glad you made the upgrade. I'm not familiar with the new XP10 circuit, but it probably has improvements over the current X preamps that use the UGS gain stages. The Adcom 750 is very similar to the BOSOZ pre-amp circuit.
I bet you'll love the upgrade. Let us know how it sounds! -David |

Ok.... so I love the upgrade
I installed the XP10 last night in place of the GFP-750 and immediately noticed: openness rhythm and timing! Not 'bloated' - even tho I could not really accuse the Adcom of being this, in comparism it was.. Pride of ownership This pre is really lovely.. I am really impressed with the build quality (esp the casework) and remote. Rhythm to a lot of the music now made sense and the Pass seems really fast and also has wonderful and open soundstaging It seems to just get out of the way and present the music. Living in New Zealand makes it a challenge when you wish to listen to and purchase non mainsteam gear. I had to purchase the X350.5 and the XP10 unseen and unheard, but the NZ rep is quite helpful and I have the only XP10 in NZ.... But in both cases I am quite delighted The only thing that surprised me was the noise floor of the XP10. The GFP was silent, but unmuted the XP10 is quite noisy when you get close to the tweeter - Nelson, can you please comment if this is normal, or should I investigate further?? cheers |

Hello Guys,
It would be interesting to know the differences from XP10 and my Pass Labs X1 I have read online someone claims XP10 far superior of the X0.2 but I don't believe this .. "peut etre" equally good as mine X1 but no further IMHO Gabriele |

I have heard the XP10 compared to the 0.2.. Needless to say the 0.2 owner wants to upgrade!
Must say the XP10 and X350.5 is a nice combo |

The Adcom had it's volume control after the gain section.
In some case it made for lower noise. Noise and level are attenuated. |
