Hi
I was looking at some previous threads on heatsinks and i came across this site - http://www.surplussales.com/Heatsinks/HeatSinkmain.html For the Aleph 3 amp per channel I need to find a 0.3C/W or better heatsink to dissipate approx. 100W per channel. This link has model - (HSK)NC-421A rated at 100W and also (HSK)260 rated at 260W. If I use the first heatsink (I would need two - for two channels) but these heatsinks look small in comparision with others ones I have seen with approx the same rating and also in comparision with what the Aleph 3 originally used. The question is, does this rating for the heatsinks look correct? Same question for the other heatsink (rated at 260W) if this rating is correct, then I need to use only a single heatsink for both channels. Can I use just this single heatsink for both channels then? thanks VSR |

I think the rating is in combination with a fan. The heatsink looks like a tube, so it's for use with a fan to achieve those ratings.
I think it's usable if you use a fan, then you only need 1 per side. Mounting it horizontal causes loss in performance. |
