I bet those Raven tweeters would make your ears bleed listening to MP3's.

iPod doesn't have to be (too) compressed.

I'm sure the Rushmore's are fabulous. Maybe I will get to hear them if I ever get to visit Chez Pass.

I don't have an ipod, but doesn't the ipod support apple lossless audio codec (alac)?
If that is true, there is no need for compression.

I don't have one either but know that one does not need to rip mp3's and that less lossy options are available.

A few years ago Dave Wilson was demoing with an iPod at a show and I'm sure they were high res files... (not an endorsement, simply an observation)

What you are saying is 100% right. Flac or other lossless files sound fine. I just know that with my ravens, everything in the source in terms of high frequency noise comes through (the good and the bad, and likely the ugly if there is any around). I've always lusted after the Rushmores. They just seem pretty much the ultimate end of the line setup. One buy and you live in audio nirvana forever. So, now I am just waiting to win the lottery so I can buy a used pair.
