Just bought a pair of Magnepan MG 12s. Am also just finishing up building my Zen 4 amp. Does anyone have any experience using the Zen 4 with this speaker? I know Magnepan recommends at least 40 watts into this 4 ohm speaker, but I am planning on biamplifying with a separately amplified subwoofer and an electronic crossover, and I don't listen to very loud music or home theater anyway.
Any comments? Will the 4 ohm impedance be a problem? Will the range of class A operation suffer and sound degrade? Will I have to stand around with a bellows or a big fan? Larry Wright Seattle area |
