Default Ono - 2SK170, Which Idss?

Which Idss classification is best for Pass Ono, GR or BL? This is for the MC stage. Which classification is best for general work? I plan on building the Ono but also some other phono stages.

Thanks,
RonS

That's an interesting question, I was actually wondering about the same. Any J-Fet experts out there?

NP uses the BL variety.
I bought 2 sets of matched 2SK170BL's and 2SK389BL's for my Ono phonostages from Erno.
He is a very nice guy and offers excellent service.
Sometimes he answers the phone himself. Why don't you give him a call?

I might be interested in the GReen variety......
Where did you find them?
Or we can eventually exchange GReen for BLue

You can put the GRs in paralell if you need to get the transconductance up. Yeah, the bandwidth will be a bit less, but there are ways around that, too.

Massimo, drop me a mail and I'll see what I can do for GR flavour for you.

And since Jocko missed my offer to his pizza friend Phred:

Jocko, if you need any Toshiba 2SK170GR please let me know. I might trade it for some good advice later but if you can spare that we may have a deal.
