BOZ input attenuation value??

I'm sure this has been discussed before, so I apologize in advance.
I want to put some input attenuation on my BOZ in the form of a fixed resistor as my only source is a cd player and power is from a leach superamp.

I have been reading for a couple of hours now and can't seem to find a post that has a set value for the input resistor.

I have several good resistors in my kit and don't want to use a pot. I want to set it and forget it!!

Could some one here tell me what value to use??

I also forgot to mention that R107 was left out during the inital build as I am not switching input sources, cd only...

I am not sure if this will make a difference in the value for the input attenuation resistor...

One suggestion, would be to wire a 5K or 10K POT on the input. Use it to adjust the input level to your liking, measure it's value, and replace it with a resistor of the same value.

If you have tons of gain from your single source, you might also consider the B1 buffer/pre.

So I put 47K resistors at theinput for some attenuation.

While it is better, when I have the volume set at its minimum the music is still quite audible..

My concern is that If I increase the value of the resistor I may start limiting the bandwith...
I read that the top end will start to roll off...
Mr. Pass suggested 25K and I am already double that!!

What should I do?

So now i have 100k resistors in at the input and still there is volume when the output volume control is at its minimum...

How high can I go without degrading the sound quality??

You are way past it. A 10K in series followed by 10K or less is
about ideal.

If you can't get the volume to zero, look to the volume control pot
or the wiring.

" a 10k in series followed by 10 k or less"
Do you mean 2 resistors in series at the input?

What areas would I check in the wiring?
