Default Help Capacitors for Aleph 3

Hi Folks
I am trying to build a power supply for the Aleph 3 amp based on http://web.vip.hr/pcb-design.vip/power-3.html
For each channel I need a total of 8, 22000uF 40 V capacitors.
Looking at Digikey each Cap is going to cost up to around $20/- (total of 160 just for the caps).
I am looking at part P10083-ND (electrolytic computer grade cap). Am I looking at the right cap? There seem to be so many kinds - Axial, Radial, Mica, Electrolytic.....I am lost as to which one I should be getting.
Also if I get 16 capacitors (of 11000 uF & 40V) and wired each pair in parallel, wouldnt I be getting the same effect? Wouldnt this also work out cheaper for me?

If anyone knows of another part that I could use or another source, please do let me know.

Any suggestions on the parts for the 600v/35A Diode rectifier are greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance
vsr

Try Ra-Elco in Salt Lake City. I just bought some 56000 uf. 63 volts for somewhere around $10. The # is 801-487-7749. Ask for Robert.

Unless those 56000uF caps are superduper cheap I wouldn´t go for a 63V rating of the caps when rails are +-25V.
Cost- and sizewise.
I would look for some 40V caps at a reasonable price.
Regarding what to buy...
Well, it all depends on the money you wanna spend.
I wouldn´t go for Black Gates or something crazy but electrolytics with low ESR, high ripple current and the ability to survive a few thousand hours at 105 degress are nice to have...

Just my two cents

Its very doubtful that anyone would hear any difference in power supply caps assuming that any used are less than 5 years old. I've always used what ever is cheapest as long as its fresh and unused. The bigger audible difference is going to be if you add an inductor or not, and to remove R-19 if your sinks can take the heat!!

Damn, I wish we had such nice offers here in Europe.
If shipping wasn´t so expensive.
Can´t you open another shop over here?

Paying the high price of shipping could still save you a ton over in Europe! Caps are generally inexpensive here....unless you're after designer/decorator caps....
