Original Aleph P Coupling Caps

Hello,

I had build a clone of the Aleph P version 1.7 with WIMA MKP4 10u coupling caps.
What I want to know is the original type of coupling caps which are used in the
original / commercial design of the Aleph P. Has anyone this informations?

Hi Ralph,

the original caps are Panasonic polyester types - series ECQ-E(F).
You can find them by digikey - part number EF1106-ND.
Your used Wima MKP should be a better choice with lower losses - only disadvantage is the bigger size!

A while ago (maybe about a year) there was a thread about coupling caps in an Aleph Preamp and I joined in the discussion at that time.
If you do a search, you should find this, and it may be of some help to you.

Thanks for the reply.

I start working on a Aleph P clone in 2004 and I read nearly
everything about how to build it. But what I don't know up to
now was the type of the original coupling caps.

The Panasonics can't be so bad, NP also use them in the
X0 preamp.

also BZLS, X160, X200 and all XA.5 amplifiers...
The information for the digikey part number comes from the BZLS article.

The only dealer I can find for them in germany is digikey.
Easier is to order Vishay/BCComponents series 468 by farnell (farnell number: 1166121).
They are quite the same as the Panasonics with same dimensions, grid and electric strength (only the color is more orange than redbrown :-) ).
I use them in the BZLS.
