We are a group of DIyer in Hong Kong. We have a forum called review 33 and discussing Pass DIY. These products including Aleph P1.7, Pearl Phono and A30. Some photos of DIY products were shown in the forum. Some of them does have some sort of label on Pass. However, the discussion did indicate clearly that it is a DIY product and there was no intention to mislead the reader nor there is any commerical activity on the thread. The whole discussion was whole heartly on how to improve the sound quality.
Unfortunately. the host of review33 rhad advised that a complaint was received from Pass Labs and this thread need to be shut down. While I am not a Pass Lab users but I do appreiate Mr Nelson generosity in taking part in this forum in discussing with DIYers in audio product, I am a little concern that these action against the host of review33 was not in accordance with my general understanding of Mr Nelson's involvement in DIY audio forum. The thread will be deleted tonight and therefore we lost a platform locally in discussing Pass DIY. I would like to know whether Mr Nelson's opinion on this matter and some clarification was appreciated as we, DIYer in Hong Kong are really disappointed in this matter. |

It would be appreciated if you contacted Mr Pass directly and did not use this forum to convey your concerns. EDIT: Mr Pass wishes to respond. |

I checked this out.
First off, no complaint has been issued to Review33, and we have not seen anything there that would be likely to provoke us into complaining. Our distributor in Hong Kong has not issued a complaint either. We have been recently looking into what appear to be commercial offerings on HIFIZone, and we are considering whether to take any action, but have not yet taken any. It is our policy not to interfere with DIY activities, but we do appreciate it when our trademarks, including Pass Labs, Aleph, Supersymmetry and so are respected. This means that they are not used in a manner which misleads consumers or degrades the value of our trademarks or our reputation. Everyone paying attention knows what constitutes good behavior. If you stick our name(s) on something and sell it at a profit, this is bad behavior. Thank you.
